I'm an experienced product designer with a knack for creating intuitive solutions for complex processes.

      Who Am I?
Hi I'm Joanna, a product designer based in Miami. With expertise in UX design, visual design and interaction design, I love designing people-focused digital experiences with deep intention.

I have spent the past 3 years creating user-centered designs and prototypes from complex ideas and processes.  My work spans both B2B and B2C web and mobile products across the health and education industries.

I believe in crafting inclusive, intuitive designs that evolve into meaningful experiences. Guided by my motto of living with curiosity, intention, and awareness, I use research to create products that uplift others. With a people-first approach and business acumen, I design solutions that empower users and deliver results.

I recently graduated with an MFA in Interactive Media (May '24) and hold a BA in Computer Science (May '22) from the University of Miami. As an early product designer at Viveka Health, I tackled complex challenges by leading a mobile app re-design projects, building design systems, and simplifying workflows and features for a complex legacy system.

      WhATS MY BACKGROUND?
Outside of UX, I’m dedicated to personal growth and well-being. Whether pushing my limits at the gym, finding peace through mindfulness, I’m always striving to be my best self.

My early love for technology and problem-solving took me to the University of Miami, where I majored in Computer Science and minored in Interactive Media in 2018. This journey helped me dive deeper into coding, building websites, and exploring how human behavior connects with technology.

My newfound passion for UX design in 2021, inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Interactive Media in 2022 with a focus on Interaction and User Experience Design. During this program, I developed my skills in Visual Design, Design Thinking, and Lean UX, worked with various clients and even contributed to creating an collegiate award winning game, Answer Campus.

After graduating with a Masters degree in Interactive Media in May 2024, my UX journey is driven by creating impactful designs and driving the product development process across the healthcare, education, and CX industries.

Reading books like "100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People" and learning about product development in agile environments, like when I earned a Product Management certification from BrainStation, keeps me always learning and tinkering. This helps me create digital solutions that are both purposeful and intentional.
